The Day of Mars marks the last day of Earthweek.

TUESDAY MAY 27

The Day of Mars marks the last day of Earthweek. Mars isn't comfortable in Libra, according to astrological tradition. Libra is the sign of Mars' detriment, opposite its natural home in Aries. This means that Mars is considered weak in Libra, because it can not operate in its most natural way. However, modern astrologers recognize that a planet in unfamiliar territory presents unique opportunities, not just challenges. When disparate elements such as spontaneity and strategy, individuality and co-operation or action and reflection meet, the mix is combustible, but very powerful. Those able to harness these seeming contradictions can gain the strengths of both sides, rather than being confused or torn between them. We all have a greater possibility to build bridges now as martian initiative meets Libran conciliation. It takes courage to make peace, and this combination favors those who move in that direction. The shadow side of Mars in Libra, however, is the smile-wearing (Libra) attacker (Mars) who masks his aggression with a pretense of kindness. We are likely to find ourselves carefully measuring others to balance the seemingly opposite forces of self-interest and co-operation during this period. At 2:10 am the waning Taurus Moon goes void of course (5:10 am ET) after contacting Saturn and Jupiter, to fill our dreams with insight into our long-term projects. The Moon is void all day, until its entry into Gemini at 9:48 pm, but we can still bring home the bacon with the void period in Taurus. Sensual Venus joins the karmic South Node of the Moon, creating a false sense of security about the romantic notion of going with the flow. However, it’s smarter to give a project an additional nudge forward than to coast through the day.

Metaversal Sunday Forecast....not down the street at historic Sweet’s Ballroom.

SUNDAY MAY 25
Intelligence is the greatest aphrodisiac, but a dab of extract from a civet's anal gland and a nice pair of shoes will work just as well today. The Day of the Sun in the Week of Earth and the Sun is now in Gemini, without sentiment. Sunday’s for May are big Metaversal days. Johannes Ayres teaches his Western Tantra class at the beautiful Metaversal Studios near Lake Merrit in Oakland Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. (in the Ballroom). This allows practioners to attend the Metaversal x-X-static Dance Workshop (also every Sunday morning) down the street at historic Sweet’s Ballroom. It's Gemini's job to help us see alternative views of reality. Gemini is neither about truth nor judgment. It offers options, explorations, possibilities, conjecture and jokes. The lens of perception may be turned in its need to catch the light from yet another angle. If we take this to the limit we may ridicule others, using wit to separate ourselves from feelings. But the purpose here is not for us to wound or be wounded. It is to lighten up, brighten up and open the mind's eye to new possibilities. There can be real compassion with detachment now. This is the season for sharing our thoughts and observations without the censor of truth or judgment. We may find the space to speak with openness, simply exchanging information and ideas down the street at historic Sweet’s Ballroom. No one needs to be right. There is no grade for this course. It's a free pass or the eye, the mind and the mouth to travel new paths and remember that reality is not just one thing, but an infinite web of possibilities. We might not have a solid handle on reality this morning because we’re so concerned with initiating action that we forget about the principle of cause and effect. An overly optimistic Sun-Jupiter alignment raises our hopes, along with the stakes. But we’re not easily fooled because mental Mercury connects with intelligent Uranus to sharpen our minds. Like every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., you can join Sri Baba Johannanda for his Hatha Yoga class at Metaversal Lightcraft. Meanwhile, the Moon’s shift into earthy Taurus at 2:27 pm sets our feet firmly on the ground. We could be tempted to take a last look backward today as Mercury trines and Venus opposes the North Node. This is about relationship choices and commitments. The Moon enters its void period at 8:58 am, but the doorway to loving communication is left open. The Moon goes into Taurus at 2:28 pm, and we see where we were one lunar month ago with fresh eyes, in preparation for the new cycle, which starts on Wednesday. This is the Balsamic, Wishing Moon, when the thoughts and images we project into the lunar chalice seed the coming month. Tonight is the premiere of the Meta-show "The Hack" at 8:00 p.m., broadcast live from Metaversal Studios Oakland.
