On the level of the fourth octave (see Chapter 9 of the Metaversal Lightcraft Training Manual for more on the Four Octaves), Capricorn represents the integration and structuring of the higher perceptions of the Self in the World on a practical level. On the World scale, Capricorn occupies the period between AD 1750 and AD 1840. This was the time when the ideology of Sagittarius was translated into material form. Humanity evinced a superiority over the forces of nature, and the Industrial revolution began. Romanticism surrounded the likes of Shelley, Goethe, Byron, and Chopin, reacting to the cold prevailing mechanistic World view. Rudolph Steiner said that the human being is created, and destined to be, a self-defining creature. Are we slightly higher than monkeys or slightly lower than angels? They can also help us break through inertia and subconscious resistance to change, fortifying us to extricate ourselves from confining situations. Venus, goddess of love, joins Jupiter, planet of expansion and universal good will, in the sign of Leo. Leo represents the period of when as children we begin primary school, which is the first detachment from the family structure, where we learn to make relationships and satisfy the need to be loved in the world. Games provide a way to relate to others and they teach us to accept and make rules, the basis for being able to structure our lives (from 7 to 13 years old). On the World Scale, Leo is between 3,000 to 800 BC when both the Egyptian and Sumerian civilizations flourished, when religion became monotheistic, where one being represented or was, God on Earth. During this Time of Pharaohs and Kings, Lion images proliferated in architecture and monuments, for the Lion is of course, King of Beasts. This combination of Venus and Jupiter in Leo activates our heart center, adding warmth to our spiritual practice. Thoughts and mantras of love will allow our acts of courage to flow with efficacy and beyond the reach of violent reactions. Also on July 1, Mercury is finally emerging from its nine-week retrograde and shadow period, flashing a green light on our communications, promotions and movements of any kind. It works well with the Full Moon portal to help us stop staring at the mountain and begin to climb it. The month’s beginning is a vortex of apparently disparate elements: humanitarian love, secrets purged, and resolute action—and these threads reach into the days ahead like laser strings unraveling from a ball of varicolored light-yarn. During the passage of the Sun through Cancer we are extraordinarily open to our inner selves, to our own depths, to our own connections with the Metaverse. The vulnerability of this state increases our need for security, and we find ourselves attending to those aspects of our lives which center in our own hearth—our inner child, our family, our domestic lives, our homes, our businesses—those things which relate to creating a stable base, those situations in which we find safety and comfort. Like the night to which she introduces us, the forces of Cancer are mysterious. They are ruled by the Moon, the Goddess of the Night, who brings her waxing and waning lanterns to guide us through the dark, through the murky unconscious, through the watery depths of feeling. In Gemini we made connections with every passing event, as we restlessly kept ourselves in motion, learning about the world, exploring. Now in Cancer it is time to center ourselves, to turn within and learn who we are and what we need, to nurture our inner child and create a safe home for it. The darkness of the subconscious is our real staging ground for life, and we must develop lines of support to anchor ourselves to its vastness, while at the same time maintaining fluid passageways for growth, for change, and for movement to new levels. In Aries, we brought the seed of spirit to earth, in Taurus we multiplied the seeds, in Gemini the air swept them up to disperse them, and now in Cancer each seed will find its proper spot in which to put down strong roots. It is most appropriate that we plant our gardens by the moon, which rules Cancer. The moon fluctuates within its monthly cycle, and also is connected with the daily fluctuations of tidal waters throughout the world. Underlying this fluctuation, which may seem capricious if we don’t pay attention to life’s rhythms, there are regular cycles and predictability. The energy of Cancer, similarly, is a fluctuating movement—going within to deep sources and then moving out to express those depths in the world, ever shifting as do the ocean currents. But like the moon Cancer has its inner predictability, and is accountable to its own rhythms.
Cancer rules containers of all kinds, including the womb, where young life is nourished, and the home, where families are nourished. It rules gestation, that vulnerable time when an embryo is being formed deep within layers of protection. Cancer is associated with bodies of fluid, such as lakes and amniotic sacs. It knows. It knows that water, which symbolizes emotions in astrology, is the essential matrix of life, and that feelings are tender and vulnerable and must be protected, just as the growing fetus must be protected. It knows intimately about growth, because it carries the growth process within itself. And growth, too, must be protected and attended to so that the fledgling is strong and healthy. A fine example of a Cancer sun person who arose from the depths of her own isolation, her own inner life, to forge new mental and emotional connections with the world was Helen Keller. She grew up blind, but came to light the way for the effective teaching of blind and deaf children, based on her personal experience. Nelson Mandela is another Cancerian who emerged from years of isolation to lead his people and his nation towards his vision of justice for all people. With it being Airweek, honor Saturn today by creating greater stability in the Metaverse, actively expressing or experiencing your security needs, and cleansing and strengthening your base Chakra. Serves as the foundation to evolve and build personality. There is a sixth dimensional solar mind which interacts with all levels and is purely an electromagnetick harmonic, a harmony based on all the other levels coming together around a center. And the sun is the center eternally now and therefore timeless. The Sun never sets on itself. The evolution of the Metaversal song, what some refer to as the Great Work, has as its core the purpose of resonating this harmonic through your individual interactive Lightcraft. Be selective of your company and use this day for creative thought and work, and tranquil worship or inspiration. Early morning is great for original thinking, after a midnight sextile between Mercury, the communicator and Venus, planet of beauty, in artistic Leo. Moon intellectual Aquarius squares Saturn, the teacher, in deep Scorpio, helping early risers with a dose of stellar brain-juice. If you are one of those, it’s best to work or create independently, since Aquarius and Scorpio are one of the least harmonious mixes. At 7:23 am (10:23 ET), Moon enters Pisces, making for an inspired Sunday, apt for spiritual activities, a day at the beach and enjoying fine music. The Lunar center, and its intimate connection with the Holographic Image Projection System, is not only the foundation for the astral plane, but is the fiery aspect of astral energy itself. If you must go to work today, be sure to arrange for an early breakfast with your higher self, as morning quiet time can be quite healing. Moon in sensitive Pisces makes early harmonies with two power planets, Sun and Pluto, both involved in a tense but fertile opposition that becomes exact today.
