Monday October 11
The Sagittarius Moon finds harmony today as it sextiles Saturn and Mercury. This is a great day for planning and efficient completion of tasks. In John Christopher’s apocalyptic novel The Death of Grass, an agricultural virus wipes out the world’s grain. The loss of wheat, rice and barley sets off a chain reaction. Livestock die, mass starvation ensues and civilization collapses. Like most novels in the dystopian genre, Christopher’s story follows a tribe of humans as they struggle to survive.
The central conceit of the novel is that the protagonist’s brother owns a farm in an easily defensible valley. The farm is a metaphor for eden: an ecological utopia with a surplus of fertile land and a bumper crop of potatoes ready for harvest. Unfortunately, civilization collapses more swiftly than anyone expects and the protagonist and his family must fight their way several hundred miles to get back to the farm. Along the way, others join their party including a gunsmith whose sniper rifle becomes the tribe’s main tool of survival.As the novel progresses, the murderous acts they commit steadily increase. They kill for food, for revenge and, finally, for control of the farm. And in the end, an explicitly patriarchal despotism develops. Tyranny conquers utopia. The reason to read The Death of Grass today is that invites us to ponder what would happen if society collapsed tomorrow. The answer Christopher offers is that we would fall back upon the same individualist, survival mentality that ushered in collapse. He argues that we would repeat the mistakes of the past, brutally installing a dictatorship and ruthlessly killing others to save ourselves. Christopher does not pretend that goodwill and solidarity will exist the day after catastrophe unless they existed the day before. The moral of The Death of Grass is that tyranny is the necessary result of ecological catastrophe if collapse comes before a spiritual and moral revolution. This is a message that we ought to take to heart because, like in the novel, the warning signs of environmental collapse haunt us. Although we try to repress our awareness of the looming zero point, the death rattle of nature is growing louder. In light of the death of nature, I believe that we have only three options. The first option is to do nothing: ignore the warning signs and continue on the path of reckless consumerism. Under this model, we simply keep living our lives, building our careers and believing that everything will be fine. We place our faith in the corporations and the American way of life. The second option is largely the same as the first but it appeals to liberal-minded environmentalists. This is the so-called “green capitalism” option whereby we keep consuming but we make ourselves feel better by purchasing “green” products. Ultimately, this path only appeals to the very rich who can afford to shop organic, buy hybrids, use bamboo flooring and follow the latest corporate endorsed trends. In the end, these two options are basically the same. They refuse to accept the need for a dramatic reduction in First World standards of living. As such, they are not options at all because they merely ensure the extinction of nature. These two options guarantee that when the collapse happens it will bring an ecological dictatorship. Both “green capitalism” and consumerism, in their refusal to endorse a spiritual turn-around, lay the foundations for eco-tyranny. The third option is to immediately take the threat of ecological collapse seriously and to re-organize society around confronting that threat. This requires a fundamental change in the goals of society: an end to economic development, to the acquisition of things, to the desecration of the earth. And it requires an essential shift in the nature of humanity: a moral and spiritual uprising against the soul poisoning of advertising. This option is the only viable alternative to eco-tyranny. It asks the most of us, but it is also the only way to prevent an authoritarian post-apocalyptic society. Some believe that averting ecological catastrophe may no longer be possible. Regardless of whether this is true–after all, how could we know?–the best strategy may be to assume that the tipping point has already occurred and that preventative measures are no longer sufficient.Instead, what is needed now is a frank discussion about what will happen the day after. If all we can imagine is that it will be a terrible dictatorship of violence, then we must immediately begin the process of initiating a spiritual revolution, an inner-insurrection that lays the foundation for an egalitarian post-consumerist society.

Monday October 4
The Day of the Moon in the World/Week of Earth. The stones attributed to Luna are Moonstones and Aquamarine, and her metal is Silver. Lunar scents are Jasmine and Sandalwood. As the Moon measures the tides of the earth (physically and astrally), so also does she measure the soul's passage from the shores of eternity through the waters of the womb to the world of time, to the door of our crib.. With Mercury now in Libra, we can look forward to new awareness about our path into the new future we face. The first hit of this comes today when it squares Pluto. Our thoughts may be unsettled and unsettling. We see so much to do—how are we going to get it all done? The key is that we don’t have to do it all now, or do it all alone. The universal flow will carry us, and it will be completed in harmony if we allow it to. The Moon finishes its sojourn in Leo with oppositions to Neptune and Chiron, highlighting our healing process from yet another angle. Logical Mercury's entry into diplomatic Libra three days ago opened new channels of communication. This can facilitate agreements with others but also confronts minds with opposing points of view. Instead of choosing sides, there may be greater wisdom in understanding that there are elements of truth in all positions. Talk to me Lover, come on, tell me what you taste. Didn’t mama tell you life was to good to waste? Did she tell you iaocore was the glammest of all if you can hang, you can trip on it, you surely won’t fall. At 9:43 am, the Moon in Virgo enters its void-of-course period as it opposes Jupiter and Uranus. We feel the impact of our ongoing awakening process, seeing what effects it will have in our daily experience. We get downtime until 12:51 pm, when the Moon enters peace-loving Libra. THE OCTOBER TERRAIN

October starts out as a month when we reflect on the recent past as we move on, rebuilding and changing our methods in the eternal commitment to variations on me-versus-them. recollections begin to give us glimpses of self-understanding. We’re all going down the rabbit-hole. And that’s an order. How have we come to be who we are? How have we come to where we are in life? During the Sun in Libra period we ponder the idea of regaining our Balance, A balance not easily achieved, but once experienced, impossible to forget. Our memoruy of said balance has led us to recent events and to the developing of current goals. Question: will these goals serve you as a person in the long run? When the Sun moves into Scorpio it’s a chance too suckle at that sacred, nameless breast from which we all are nourished, commend to which we will return. It can be a joyous reminder of spirituality that raises hopes or a jealous rejoinder of pyrite that praises dopes. Yet, sitting on magical lace can make this old looker darker in Paris. Truth, we discover in Scorpio, is not bound in dogma or anyone's sacred book. It is beyond words, beyond measure, but freely available to any open Heart, Mind, Body. All we have to do is give up knowing anything and all knowledge is given to us. With the Sun in Scorpio events arouse greater reactions and emotive reactivity. October is all about relationships!
brought to us by Venus, whose retrograde period starts on October 8th . She stays retrograde for 42 days, during which time she falls into the Sun (from her current position high in the western sky at sunset), then emerges as the morning star, where she will remain for eight months. Just like the goddess Inanna (the Sumerian version of Venus), we will pass through seven thresholds into the Underworld, where we have the opportunity to shed old ways of being. She turns forward again on November 18 at 27°39′ Libra. We renew our relationships with all those around us, and sometimes that renewal involves removal. Our bonds with others are meant to provide us with supportive opportunities for growth. If the mystery of true synergy eludes us and we find ourselves undermined by a relationship, we must let it go. We are more inclined to make this discovery during Venus retrograde. With Saturn in Libra, we have the task set before us to find balance in our lives as a foundation for fulfilling our purpose. This lends urgency and meaning to our decisions at this time. Saturn is traveling quickly forward through Libra, launching its restructuring process on our placements in the mid-degrees of the sign. ceres enters Capricorn on October 8th and approaches Pluto from one side as the node approaches from the other. By mid-October, Pluto bisects these two influences. On October 18th Ceres aligns with Pluto. Ceres and the node come together on October 24th and by November 9th the node crosses over Pluto. Ceres (Gaia, Demeter) and Pluto have always had a strained relationship... that’s putting it mildly. That can be established by the well-known tale of Pluto’s abduction of Ceres’ daughter and her subsequent threats to destroy agriculture for the planet if her daughter was not returned immediately and in pristine condition. Maybe it’s time for an agricultural check on the planet. Is this the time when the ease of putting corn syrup in food becomes known for the subsequent lack of pristineness it may induce in the human body? Should we consider the number of maple trees being cut down for baseball bats and factor that against the cost of maple syrup? Or maybe it’s thank God the shortage of canned pumpkin has been declared over. Perhaps the greater purpose seeks to look at ways to ensure every person on our presently abundant planet receives enough food to sustain the body properly. Of course in the “What about me?” era... never mind the agi-global stuff... what about my life? Okay, how about the following bite-sized nuggets?

Ceres to Pluto - Petition your power. Whatever aspect of yourself holds another aspect hostage... well that crap needs to stop. No one can prevent you from being brilliant. Someone may not recognize your brilliance, but that by no means negates it. Know your stuff. Be excellent at what you do. Cut no corners when cultivating your creativity and present your absolute best at all times.

Ceres to the North Node - No whining or complaining. Criticisms or mean-spirited verbal binges go no where. If you’re going to get the attention of those at the top of the pyramid, you need to render solutions that support the pyramid better than ever. Real solutions can be recognized; complaints get ignored. Make a promise to make a comment about every good deed and noble intent you encounter.

North Node to Pluto - Check your ego at the door. A meeting in this astrological object conference room occurs only between those of focused intents, positive aspirations and clarity of consciousness. Make a flight plan and stick to it, allowing for unforseen environmental factors to be included along the way. Be productive, efficient and waste not. Conserve your time for things that mean something. Time is your most precious resource and short of having figured out time warping, can never be replaced.The staging of astrological influences never ceases to amaze me. We have the patterns mentioned above - as well as many others, including Venus retrograde - all prior to the time that Jupiter resumes prograde motion on November 18th at 23 Pisces 30. This degree of Pisces was where the goddess of discord transited between roughly 1905 and 1907. In late April and early May of 2011 Jupiter and Mars transit the position of Eris. Essentially, each and every person alive will experience the same aspect of a transiting planet to a natal planet between mid-November and the first week of May next year! With Ceres to Pluto, review how to tango with complex issues without issuing “spite your face” ultimatums. Know which fights are worth it and which are not. Odds are responding to a respondent commenting on your Facebook page or regarding a news story falls into the category of “not worth so much.” With Ceres to the Node, determine what causes motivate the urge to take on city hall, the powers that be, or the immovable forces that suppress the majority. As the node comes to Pluto, line up resources, a team, an agenda, a consciousness and a purpose for the campaign ahead.

Big revelations emerge today and tomorrow as Mercury opposes Jupiter and Uranus. This brings us more understanding about the changes we experienced in September, as well as ways to clear the obstacles that remain. with the Moon in cancer You may hear the foghorns of ghostships. You may see, through crystal windows, gigantic manta rays surging through primordial waves in a sea blasted by silent lightning.

The Day of Saturn, the Holder of the Secrets of Time, in Assiah, the World of Earth. The stones attributed to Saturn are Hematite and Onyx and her metal is Lead. Meet with other souls today, 'in the flesh,' including non-human beings (animals, plants) . The Tarot card attributed to Saturn in Assiah is the Three of Disks (Material Success), making this a good day for money magick. Saturn in Assiah literally completes the braid which not only holds Assiah together, but creates the possibility for the proper information context for the evolution of human nervous systems, which are fortunate enough to be able to embed themselves in the "fields" of the Metaverse.. All the action is over by 8:21 am, when the Moon goes void of course in Cancer. Before then, trines to Jupiter and Uranus, plus a sextile to Mercury, bring mind and feeling together. We know what to do, and why, if not how. Mercury completes its revelatory process as it opposes Uranus, echoing the changes of last month. Allow time in your schedule for inspiration. Sunday October 3

The Day of the Sun in Assiah. The Metaversal Lightpilot, which the ancient Egyptians referred to as the KA, is actually the fourth dimensional driver of the third dimensional Lightcraft, the BA. There is a sixth dimensional solar mind which interacts with all levels and is purely an electromagnetick harmonic, a harmony based on all the other levels coming together around a center. And the sun is the center eternally now and therefore timeless. The Sun never sets on itself. The evolution of the Metaversal song, what some refer to as the Great Work, has as its core the purpose of resonating this harmonic through your individual interactive Lightcraft. Relationships receive more focus today through a number of connections. At 8:04 am, Mercury enters gracious Libra to make our communications peace-seeking and conciliatory. Mars catches up to a very slow, almost-retrograde Venus, but we may be unwilling to rock the boat until after the 8th, when we just won’t be able to take it anymore. It may feel like it’s too late to bring imbalances and inauthenticity to the surface. It may feel like the relationship is upside-down. As the Moon makes its way through Leo, it augments this process, sextiling Saturn and the Sun in Libra to show us the possibilities, then squaring Venus and Mars to show us the conflicts yet to be resolved. In the World of Yetzirah, Air, the Lightcraft is analogous to the active aspect of the psychological body, or for simplicities sake, let's call it Psyche. In the physical body (in Assiah) there are infinite subdivisions down to the frontier of the physical world, where the particles of matter and impulses of energy are interchangeable. In the same way, the Psyche interpenetrates the body so that the upper part of the physical world percolates and influences the lower part of the psyche, and vice versa. In the macrodimensions of the Metaverse, a crisis can generate a direct contact with the Sun in Yetzirah (Psyche) but after the crisis, the connection fades, and the watcher in oneself fades back into the subconscious. The Lightpilot seeks to consciously make permanent connection with the Sun in Yetzirah. This is done by constant observation of actions, emotions and intellect, to perceive impartially the way those functions operate, and to correct and perfect their performance so as to become a true seething. To be the big picture, complete in all its parts. Moon in Taurus brings relationship imbalances out again as it opposes Mars and Venus. If you take a position you could get stuck there, where at other times you might be more flexible. The lunar orb being receptive and reflective, focuses the qualities of the signs and other planets to our personal Lightcraft. The Lunar center, and its intimate connection with the Holographic Image Projection System, is not only the foundation for the astral plane, but is the fiery aspect of astral energy itself. The Taurus Moon reaches a cluster of planets found late in their sign. A trine to Mercury brings a peaceful inner reconciliation of head/mind and heart/feeling, a prerequisite for all wise decisions. . Life is trying to teach us where we need to be more “solid” with/in ourselves. Why? Because the more internally connective and self-responding we are, the more we will get out of things soon to come. Somehow it seems a bit fascist, doesn’t it, this period I’m describing. I suggest we leave it alone for a while, then see what its wild intelligence has bred. Our healing process is opened again with squares to Neptune-Chiron, bringing realizations that what we perceive doesn’t completely match what is happening in this moment—don’t get caught in appearances. Sextiles to Jupiter and Uranus help us find our way out of the labyrinth. The Moon enters its void of course period at 8:02 pm, but we can use this time for initiating action if we desire. At 11:10 pm, the Moon’s entry into Gemini opens us to more active social participation. Then we can establish a rococo nerve lattice among the quarantined survivors of Operation: Rapture, then we can stamp down a huge and perfect Mandelbrot Set with our ding-a-lings in popular wheatfields, or even feed raspberries to carp.

The Big Solar Orb moves into Libra today. Libra is the sign of the Scales, representing the bridge between opposing forces. It is the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of spring below the equator. Seeking harmony and creating balanced relationships are favorable qualities of this sign but being overly accommodating can be its downside. Fairness is a valuable idea that allows us to compromise with people without losing our sense of self.
