AUGUST 9: LEO NEW MOON!
MONDAY AUGUST 9
The New Moon in Leo today is the time to begin that creative project that's near and dear to your heart. The seed/ideas we have from the New Moon to the First Quarter Moon come from the kabbalistic world of Atziluth (Fire) and are the blueprints/seeds for everything that exists, has existed, and will ever exist in the physical world of Assiah (Earth), as an embodiment of the archetypal idealized Apple (or a least the Core).. this is the time to remember we're in the pilots seat of our own personal Lightcraft and make some corrections if we've veered off course. You needn't dress in any but the most perfunctory manner nor bring any crickets (there will be plenty of those!) The sign of Leo is ruled by the Sun, our source of light and life. What is your Sun saying? What kind of light do you shine? What do you love more than anything? Give yourself some soul time around this New Moon and take notes on what your heart is telling you. This New Moon in courageous Leo plants seeds of inspiration in a child's garden of creativity and play. Venus continues to focus the current planetary testing process into our relationships with others and our self as she opposes Jupiter and squares Pluto. This energy goes deep, is life-changing, and completes a process that began on July 29. We see the course ahead of us as far as relationship connections are concerned, and we fully enter into whatever Saturn in Libra has to teach us over the coming two years. Active dreams give way to quiet joy, as we enter the New Moon energy, which perfects at 8:08 pm/17°25′ Leo. This New Moon sets the light-specific stage, which indeed all the world is. The angel of dread has wrestled with the Lightpilot and brought her to her knees, and then - the lifting up into the light;, until the Lion's Mouth is opened by gentle hands, until the secret of the Sphinx revealed, and then - the revelation of the Metaversal Harmony. Of course I'm talking 'bout the archetype of Leo - the King: long live the, kill the,...etc. The Lion-serpent sun sign, the power of Will, the quest for authenticity. Leo represents the period of development when as children we begin primary school, which is the first detachment from the family structure, where we learn to make relationships and satisfy the need to be loved in the world. Games provide a way to relate to others and they teach us to accept and make rules, the basis for being able to structure our lives (from 7 to 13 years old). On the World Scale, Leo is between 3,000 to 800 BC when both the Egyptian and Sumerian civilizations flourished, when religion became monotheistic, where one being represented or was, God on Earth. The Time of Pharaohs and Kings, Lion images proliferated in architecture and monuments, for the Lion is of course, King of Beasts. With so much happening in Leo we may be seeking romance with a flare for the dramatic. The electric Sun itself, Leo calls on each of you to shine your light, your singular essence. No one else has seen through your fingertips, felt through your eyes, lived in your skin. The new lunar cycle falls in the fixed signs, which are getting breathing room right now; the prevailing planetary tensions are not engaged by the Sun-Moon conjunction, but they are still active in our lives. We continue to feel as though life is in flux, which we do best to address by being flexible. This is the best environment for growth and the development of strength and wisdom. In the chart cast for Washington DC, 0°01′ Taurus is rising. This very young degree of this sign of manifest beauty teaches us how to use our senses (both physical and inner) to understand the world. In Washington, watch for people to be "sniffing out" the truth in new ways. The planets in the cardinal cross are in the cadent houses (3, 6, 9, 12), indicating a process of completion. This reminds that the end of the legislative session is near. Elections in November will remove some lawmakers from office, and the balance of power may shift. There is a hurry-up energy to what happens as Democrats try to squeeze all they can out of the first two years of Obama’s presidency and a majority in their favor. At the New Moon degree of 18 Leo, the Sabian Symbol reads, "An instructor in chemistry is conducting an experiment before his class in the midst of a maze of apparatus." (ME Jones version) It’s down to the scientists now as to what happens with the Gulf Oil Spill. New technology must be developed to manage this type of situation adequately. The need for government to insist on development of proper safety and recovery technology (before licenses are granted) is also highlighted.
