July 26 to July 29th...It's all about Mars!

Tuesday July 26

I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight
I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might
I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave
I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave
Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown
For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down.

We will wax sociable today, yet be serious in doing so. Straight to the point, too much to do to mess around, as Moon in Gemini trines Saturn. Today is also the first day of the Mars stage of our annual Tantra workshop. The third Chakra is called Manipura and is our Mars center in the Lightcraft and is located behind the solar plexus. In astrology Mars is said to influence what turns you on, and how you'll pursue a potential mate. The sign and house position of Mars determines whether you'll have a detached or lovey-dovey approach to what goes on in the bedroom. Mars is the passionate impulse and action, while Venus tends to the overall relationship atmosphere. Mars is the masculine aspect, and this goes beyond sex into your drive, discipline, will-power and stamina. Venus is the feminine aspect, and tempers Mars to smell the roses along the way. Manipura is considered the centre of dynamism, energy, willpower and achievement , which radiates prana throughout the entire human body. It is associated with the power of fire, and digestion. Manipura is "the center of etheric-psychic intuition: a vague or non-specific, sensual sense of knowing; a vague sense of size, shape, and intent of being." As such, some psychics recommend "listening" to it since it may help in making better decisions in one's life on many different levels.Through meditating on Manipura, one is said to attain the siddhi, or occult power, to create and destroy the world. Mars is currently traveling loudly through Gemini.Mars in Gemini is an energetic planet in a highly mobile sign. The fact is, however, that Gemini moves in more than one direction at a time, in contradition to Mars' knifelike thrusts. Mars does best when it's focused. It is pure hunter instinct that hones in on the target, then strikes its blow. But, Gemini is a better talker than a fighter. It's a wanderer and thinker, not a killer.
The challenge, then, is to stay on track. But, maybe that's not even possible now. Maybe we need to stay on more than one track. Diversity is the name of Gemini's game. Brief incursions may work better than full-scale invasions. Gemini is about tasting little bits at a time, rather than making a total commitment. We might all work more efficiently now if we have a variety of tasks that we can move among like butterflies. The Rite of Mars takes place at 8:00 p.m. at the Court of the Crimson King in San Francisco, and it promises to be a real teste fest!

Wednesday July 27
The Day of Mercury in the Week of Earth finds the swift one in At 9:55 am PT, the Moon occults (eclipses) our view of Mars. This means that our emotions can be more volatile. This is good if you are mystified about what you feel, not so good if you express them aggressively. Our instincts will be strong; pay attention, because they are key to understanding our deepest motivations. The Sun trine to Uranus gives us an open doorway to make changes in our lives. Hidden tensions suddenly come to the surface, which can upset the status quo. However, we are also excited about the possible changes and may even take unnecessary risks to make something happen. If we have been looking for greater freedom, today is a good day to take steps in that direction. At 5:35 pm, the Moon enters a brief void period, which lasts until 6:11 pm, when it enters sensitive Cancer. Visions of the future and straight up healing energy can come through as the Moon trines Neptune and Chiron. Chiron's entry into Pisces, arguably the most compassionate sign of the zodiac, is a period when vulnerability rises closer to the surface. This can make us more aware of our own wounds as well as those of other living creatures. While Chiron's passage through Aquarius has been a period of intellectual awareness of suffering, its shift into Pisces brings these notions down from the head and into our very souls. This is an invitation to empahy as the boundaries between us begin to melt

Thursday July 28
The Moon continues in Cancer, stimulating our process of change with the Cardinal Cross. It moves through the energy fields of Uranus and Pluto before dawn to infuse our dreams with deep insights. A sextile to Jupiter and square to Saturn complete the process of finding ways to bring these energies into the structures of our life. At 7:59 am, Venus enters Leo to bring heart and optimism to our outlook and ways of loving. Mercury enters Virgo at 10:59 am, opposing Neptune for the first of three times in the course of the coming month. This helps us discern between dreams, illusions, and realities that are still in the making. At 4:03 pm, the Moon goes void of course, although in Cancer it still activates fruitful events for us if we take the initiative.

Friday July 29

At 11:16 am, the Moon enters Leo, but no contacts are made today. Make up your own story of what this day holds!
