JUNE 2019
With an early mingling of Gemini-Cancer energies, an opulent New Moon, and the Summer Solstice portal, June is a month of magick—though that doesn’t mean it’s entirely easy. For one fairly long stretch mid-month, we get a series of challenging aspects involving pugnacious Mars, puffy Jupiter, slippery Neptune, and pushy Pluto, not to mention a Full Moon with bellicose overtones. Our mettle is apt to be tested. Yet archetypes—even dark ones—contain a germ of growth. And as we will see, the door of magic stays open. A single injection makes subjects nail goldfish to doorjambs, a second makes them cranky and a third stimulates the appetite to such an extent you’d better knock their heads together quick as a flash. ‘Johannes’, you might snort, ‘you just say the first thing that comes into your head, don’t you.’ In June we cross from the analytical airs of Gemini to the sensitive waters of Cancer. This combination is exalted at the Summer Solstice, when the Sun shifts signs. Their mingling, however, goes on both before and after the moment of Solstice, with Mercury and Venus, planets close to the Sun, undergoing similar shifts on different dates. This month, the New Moon in Gemini brings in the lunar-mercurial mix, activating our rational and intuitive gifts even as the month begins. June’s first days are by far the best time for practical action. Until June 4, Mercury in Gemini favors connection, communication and promotions of all kinds. And from Day 1, we’ll be feeling the June 3 New Moon portal, ripe with the energy of beginnings. Make those calls, put together that proposal or presentation and begin to share it, reach out to others for personal, business and altruistic concerns. Thanks to a trine from prosperous Venus in abundant Taurus to powerful Pluto in first-class Capricorn that becomes exact on Sunday, June 2, our proactive connections carry a promise of abundance. This millionaire aspect graces the chart of the New Moon, which is exact on Monday, June 3. With her ruler Mercury fully direct and also in the sign of the twins, the portal particularly favors communications that transform relationships, the healing power of love, business promotions and sales. It’s also propitious for resolving matters of inheritance or people-problems, embracing our shadow and starting something related to writing or with siblings. And since Pluto relates to power on every level, this can also be a portal of female empowerment. With Venus in Taurus, sign of endurance, our actions can make positive, lasting changes, as can activism for women’s role in the public arena. Whatever else you choose to start, the Venus-Pluto trine helps lay foundations of self-care that will give you an edge during June’s more challenging aspects. Schedule a weekly therapy session, connect with a support group, stock the kitchen cupboard with healthful options, start a morning practice of journaling, exercise or healing prayers. Create limits around draining interactions. These first days are most propitious for action, but it’s also worth our while to enforce our daily space for wellness, even in a small way. Gemini jitters prevent us from resting and relaxing, especially as we look into a future clouded with uncertainty. It is still over 6 months until the powerful Saturn-Pluto conjunction, but we are already dancing to this evolutionary planetary rhythm. June begins with an emotionally intense Venus-Pluto trine on June 2, leading into the thought-provoking Gemini New Moon on June 3. Although we may become more contemplative when Mercury enters receptive Cancer on June 4, Venus shifts into restless Gemini on June 8, reminding us that we’re not quite ready to let go of all the noise. Anger resurfaces when warrior Mars kicks up a storm on June 14-19, opposing authoritative Saturn and relentless Pluto. Ego-centered shouting matches can be distracting with vocal Mercury in the picture. The Sagittarius Full Moon on June 17 fills our dreams with hopes, even if disillusionment follows. The Sun’s entry into Cancer on June 21 marks the Summer Solstice and the beginning of a new season Although the self-protective Crab tends to draw our energy inward, a Venus-Jupiter opposition on Jun 23 encourages overindulgence. Speedy Mercury races into showy Leo on June 26, inviting us to express what’s in our hearts. The planets convey a wide range of ups and downs this month, but the activation of Saturn and Pluto continues to bring forth significant events that inspire deep thinking as we try to solve the complex problems of our times. This New Moon also happens to oppose lucky Jupiter, accenting her winning streak. In his transit through Sagittarius since last fall, Jupiter, the planet of fortune, has been increasing the opportunities in the area of our natal charts he rules. So this lunation can also help us ground our good fortune, taking care of the Gemini details and interchanges that it requires.
SATURDAY, JUNE 1
Moon, exalted in abundant Taurus, joins ruler Venus and harmonizes with inspired Neptune in Pisces, along with constructive Saturn and powerful Pluto in Capricorn. This is a great day to prepare to finish something related to work, a shared endeavor, or to strengthen an important personal relationship. If you’re up early, take some time out to meditate, decipher guidance received in dreams, and consider what you want to finish or let go of by the waning light of the Balsamic Moon. People connections flow, and Taurus Moon loves to share a meal—but even these convivial situations favor work or shared efforts.Today, we can build up something we want to last. I hope this isn't an ackward time to mention that the structural basis for all Light-specific work in the Metaverse is regular, disciplined connection to the No-Form, meditation, contemplation, what ever you want to call it, as long as it's deep. Supremely solitary in that heath of scrub. The Light-Specific state initiates itself with SOLITUDE, the gratifying element of being alone (if only for 20 minutes a day)...without which, true development is impossible. The point is to connect to your inner source of stability, the state of potentia, the No-Form, at least once a day. No-Form is not a goal or state of "spiritual arrival" (as some religions would have us believe), it is a highly practical, multi-purpose tool for dissolving our identification with the ego. If you want to play with us, this is the only rule. The foundation of our Lightcraft is built in Chaos, so you must maintain a firm foundation, or Chaos your life will be. Some of us need this connection four times a day (sunrise, true noon, sunset, true midnight). Some of us actually manage to do it four times a day. It is a choice you must make. I would do it for you if I could. Once a day is all that's required to maintain the Continuity function. Future generations of yourself will be glad this came to pass. The Lightcraft Academy , Yoga Ceremonial Magick, this astrology forecast, they all provide ritual technology for Self initiation. But the key word here is Self. D.I.Y

SUNDAY, JUNE 2
Intelligence is the greatest aphrodisiac, but a dab of extract from a civet's anal gland and a nice pair of shoes will work just as well today. This is a day of deep connections. Moon in communicative Gemini sextiles wounded-healer Chiron. We can use words in an especially meaningful manner. Journal, write, schedule therapy, discuss something worthwhile, show up for and listen to someone with empathy—or, write to Congress. The fickle cosmic breeze is rather enchanting today, offering us a ticket to ride on the unpredictable winds. The Moon flies into inconsistent Gemini at 7:47 am EDT, enticing us to see where each changing gust might carry us. But we grow bored of being aimlessly bounced around without direction. We long for deeper and more meaningful experiences as a trine between magnetic Venus and intense Pluto builds emotional power throughout the evening. The trine from social Venus to deep Pluto in sensual earth signs can make for a passionate encounter. It’s also good for altruistic activities, supporting crisis intervention, couple’s therapy, working on self-esteem, and healing our way of manifesting money and romance. Spend time with others, but be selective.
MONDAY, JUNE 3
At 3:02 am (5:02 ET), Moon is reborn in Gemini, sign of communication. In the chart for this lunation, Venus the lover is in trine to intense Pluto, and Moon makes a T-square to Neptune and Jupiter, planets of vision, light beings, and great expectations. These aspects create a sort of hypnotic effect, triggering hidden, imaginary, and transformative energies that give an unusual depth to Gemini’s busy-ness.
It’s a fantastic combination for making a treasure map or dream board.
Clarify your intent and start something that transforms your communication. For instance:
• To heal shyness or a resistance to speak your truth
• Begin couples’ therapy
• Sign up for a workshop on writing or public speaking
• Start working with a coach
• Establish a closer, clearer relationship to your guardian angel or spirit guides
• Forgive your siblings
• Begin a more intense discipline of chanting or writing affirmations
• Begin a new dream diary
As for practical concerns: connect, but do so mindfully. Postpone important decisions and contracts, and save romantic flings for another day.
