If Mars does not have new paths to blaze, it can easily retreat to a position of vulnerability and insecurity. Overt aggression may not result, but grumpy behavior and moodiness are possible. One can easily play the victim, if that's a familiar pattern. Nations and other organizations may circle their wagons against their perceived attackers. However, creation of circles of careful initiative that blend the best of the old and the new can be highly successful at this time. Moon in diva-sign Leo and a harmony from love-planet Venus to angelic Neptune favor all things artistic and compassionate. Today offers a special opportunity to meditate on love and get in resonance with the transits and creative vibration of today’s number 3 by pouring our vitality into a creative endeavor. Let yourself be charmed, enthused or enchanted, but wait until after Mercury is out of shadow to make a new commitment. Venus sextiles Neptune. Although it’s apparent that the energy of the new year is somehow different, our enthusiasm is on the rise and we are ready for action. The Moon’s shift into animated Leo at 2:22 am EST grants us permission to temporarily set aside our feelings and swing into motion. We know that we must take our responsibilities seriously, even if it means the holiday season is over. However, a sweet Venus-Neptune sextile reminds us that joy doesn’t need to fade.

Other Saturnian imbalances can show themselves in various ways, from sleeplessness and the inability to relax, to obsession with money, possessions or health. All these contacts involve Pluto and Saturn in some way.
