Welcome to Metaversal December: The Daily Forecasts through the 7th
The Winter Holidays are some of the coldest in the world. Although we think in terms of the old year,
the last month is actually named for Decima, goddess of the present. The Celtic tree month of Ruis runs through
December 22, about which Nigel Pennick writes in The Pagan Book of Days, that it,…[S]ignifies the paradox of a time of timelessness, youth in old age and old age in youthfulness, life in death and death in life. It is followed by the single blank day in the Celtic calendar known as The Secret of the Unhewn Stone… From December 24th, the month of Beth begins. Beth is the first letter of the Celtic ogham alphabet,
signifying the birch, sacred to the Great Mother Goddess and the prime tree of the tree alphabet,
representing new beginnings, purification and the expulsion of all bad thoughts and influences.
Winter Solstice was associated with a god of the new Sun, born with different names throughout the world,
including Osiris, Mithras, Adonis, Attis, Colibrà del Sur (Spanish for Hummingbird of the South) and later, Jesus.
Long before guilt-based religions, this was a time of joy. Decorations of lights and bright colors were used to
visualize one’s conscious connection with the cheer and life of the Newborn Sun. Nature was not only used to
adorn one’s space, living perennial trees and boughs were decorated to facilitate connection with the wood’s
heroic spirit, and in some places to honor the tree itself. Mistletoe, as well as red and green colors, were used to
connect with the fertile joining of sacred male and female, the energies behind the newborn Son. In ancient Europe, this idea was taken literally. Solstice fertility rites included orgies of several days, where 12 men and 12 women joined to strengthen the gene pool while engendering new descendants. (Could this be a prelude to the 12 apostles?) Winter celebrations were ways of both honoring and invoking the spirits of nature and sacred masculine and feminine forces, to receive their power in the New Solar Cycle. 2015 is a good year for us to recover and call upon these winter archetypes. On December 4, Venus enters Scorpio, the sensual power sign. .
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1
The month begins with fireworks as Mercury in expansive Sagittarius trines Uranus in Aries,
ruled by Mars the warrior, who also rules Tuesday. We can direct our creativity in anything requiring mental alacrity or breakthroughs in
communication, particularly art, promotion, media production or creative analysis or writing. A focus on diplomacy and connections that are new, positive or impersonal, is favored, as a morning square from Mercury to Chiron, the wounded healer, can exacerbate touchiness and
healing issues—good for therapy but inhibiting for Mercury in Sagittarius, who wants to gallop around
and spread his message. We receive a permission slip from the cosmos today, encouraging us to express
what’s in our hearts without holding back. We are willing to put our feelings on the line while the
extroverted Moon roars her way through Leo the Lion, creating a Grand Water Trine with conversational
Mercury and unconventional Uranus. Additionally, Mercury’s smooth trine to rebellious Uranus enables us to
deliver a radical message without facing severe consequences. Leo Moon keeps the fires of effective
self-expression burning throughout the day, until 7:09 pm (10:09 ET), when it goes VOC on a harmony to
Venus in sweet Libra, great for taking in a play or enjoying a relaxed evening with someone fun and no
pressures involved.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2
We should get business taken care of this morning, as productive Moon in Virgo helps us use the tail end of her Fourth Quarter (11:40 pm PT/2:40 am ET at 11 degrees Virgo) by tying up work and health concerns, organizing papers and projects, and cleaning up a left-over Samhain mess.
This afternoon, stressful contacts from Moon to both imaginative Neptune and demanding Saturn can favor spiritual and creative activities, either on our own or with a tight, harmonious team. However, pay special attention to avoiding guilt trips or getting attached to outcomes. With Neptune in Pisces and Saturn in Sagittarius, connections with angels and other positive spiritual forces prove easier than with earthlings.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3
Everyone laughed when I sent my dog ZOLa to the Canine Academy Of Design, but they won't be laughing today when she CONTINUES to shit all over their lawn. The Day of Jupiter in the kabbalistic World of Water.Projecting Light Specific Blue and facing West, vibrate this azure deluxe into your Second Chakra along with the mantrum: EE-BE-DA. Jupiter is all about allowing ambiguity, contradiction, and movement. It isn't about integration. It helps the ego become more flexible. By Jove, life isn't about staying calm and balanced, but rather about keeping complexity and drama and everything else alive and in dynamic flow.
We may wish to focus on finishing up the week’s business, as Moon will be VOC through tomorrow afternoon.
Late last night (11:40 pm PT/2:40 am ET), she reached her Fourth Quarter at 11 degrees Virgo, activating the Sabian symbol of:
A TYPICAL BOY, YET MOLDED BY HIS MOTHER’S ASPIRATIONS; efficacy of overtones in life, of ideals of giving depth to outer material things. Conformity to inner light. This morning Moon trines Pluto, propitious for healing, uncluttering and finishing things.
Tense aspects to Chiron and Mercury and Uranus, planets of lower and higher mind, indicate that today is better for independent mental work than for activities involving others.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4
It’s the Day of Venus in Earthweek, so, If you invoke blessed HANIEL, the Archangel of Venus into your heart today, you may find you have developed the ability to feel like Khrisna, multiplying himself into a dozen pastoral, naked farmhands with muddy feet and emerald pond scum on their thighs, or maybe you are a young Freya on the back of a panther, eating honey. In the Western Mystery Tradition, the most pervasive polyamorous archetype is Aphrodite, Greek goddess of Love and Beauty. She is Venus, Ishtar, Astarte, Inanna and relates to the sephera Netzach on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. While she had more lovers than any other Greek goddess she was not victimized and never suffered from her numerous love affairs as did many of the other goddesses. Neither was she jealous or possessive. Unlike her counter parts she was allowed freely to choose both her husband and many lovers. She inspired poetry, communication and art as well as love. Her liaison with Hermes produced the bisexual Hermaphroditus. and her long time union with Mars (God of War) produced a daughter, Harmonia. Thus Love and War combined to give rise to Harmony.
Mercury the communicator rules VOC Moon in Virgo and makes an early square to spirited Jupiter. It’s a good time to write Christmas or Solstice greetings, and enjoy good fiction and daydreaming. This afternoon, Moon enters social Libra at 2:34 pm (5:34 ET); let’s go on a date or plan a party! Make sure the company is pleasant and context clear, as Venus, goddess of love, moves into intense Scorpio—dense groups
or power games could spoil an otherwise magical evening. If you have a honey, enjoy a night at a romantic suite or chez tois by candlelight. Otherwise, take yourself home, do creative work, prepare a Solstice ritual, attend a meditation workshop or share dinner with trusted and deep friends.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5
The Day of Saturn in the kabbalistic World of Water, Briah. Wearing Black and facing North, invoke the spirit of Andrew Eldritch into your Base Chakra (The Malkuth "Lil' World" Morphogenetic Field Transceiver) with the mantrum. "Hey Now, Hey Now Now". With it being Waterweek, honor Saturn today by creating greater stability in the Metaverse, actively expressing or experiencing your security needs, and cleansing and strengthening your base Chakra. Our consciousness in this chakra is concerned with SURVIVAL, with our fight or flight response, with our instincts. It links the individual with the physical world. Serves as the foundation to evolve and build personality. If we are to ignore this chakra, and concern ourselves with the higher levels, we will be growing without roots, we will be unstable, unable to withstand the trials that will come our way. If our survival needs are met, the Base Chakra will function healthily, but if there is a perceived threat to this, (such as a difficult house move, job change, health problems, etc.) it can create an imbalance. Other Saturnian imbalances can show themselves in various ways, from sleeplessness and the inability to relax, to obsession WITH MONEY, possessions or healthMoon in charming Libra sextiles Saturn and Sun in Sagittarius, making this a good day to share in holiday preparations, shopping, and altruistic projects, or if you prefer, tangible progress on creative endeavors. Save your evening out at the pub for another weekend. At 6:37 pm (9:37 ET), Moon joins feisty Mars and later squares determined Pluto, propitious for spiritual warrior activities at home or in another quiet, drink-free zone. Write letters to Congress, prepare a defense, review an intense negotiation, or work out.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6
This is day for heroic breakthroughs. Moon in Libra gives us a clear head and a tactful touch for handling the intense energies of Sun in harmony with warrior Mars and a lunar square to Pluto, a combination favoring defense of a cause or underdog. Other dexterous uses for these influences are shamanic dancing, beautifying the home or garden, pushing for results on a creative project, and a close encounter of the impassioned kind.
Avoid physical risks and unnecessary arguments, particularly this afternoon.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 7
Projecting LIGHT Specific purple or octarine (a particular shade of electric pinkish purple) into your forehead and facing West, activate the Ajna Holographic Image Projection System (third eye), then invoke blessed Gabriel. Diana, or Sailor Moon into your Brow Chakra. It's the Moon's day in the week of active Air and the body in motion. The lunar orb being receptive and reflective, focuses the qualities of the signs and other planets to our personal Lightcraft. The Lunar center, and its intimate connection with the Holographic Image Projection System, is not only the foundation for the astral plane, but is the fiery aspect of astral energy itself. It cannot be weaned prematurely or circumcised without sedation lest it become traumatized and even more crestfallen.
Moon in deep Scorpio conjoins Venus at 9:25 am (12:35 pm ET) and moves on to trine Neptune this afternoon.
Healing comes as we meditate on forgiveness, metta, or our favorite compassionate modality.
Creative projects and love ties get a boost and the day can be highly productive if we focus and don’t take perceived
slights personally or get into criticism or gossip.
