Daily Astral Forecasts: August 16 to 18

Tuesday August 16
The Day of Mars in Airweek. Mars hasn't always been a god of War. More
powerfully cool to blast ejacaulations of dragonbreath fireballs at the mainstream media charade, to shoot fireworks out the buisness ends of elf flamethrows at the fleeing asses of slum lords and their hired thugs, and neo-conservative goons. Mars entered cautious Cancer on August 3. This is a challenging transit because of the contrast between between these two. Traditional astrology considers Mars to be weaker than usual here, making it more difficult to act assertively and take the initiative or to behave like schoolyard bullies. A more common response is passive-aggressive behavior since Cancer is sensitive and self-protective and doesn’t like to express force directly. Forward-looking Mars in conservative Cancer can also represent a retreat to the past as we seek out old models to resolve present day problems. Our failure or unwillingness to alter our ways, our inability or refusal to change the direction of this nation and the continued indifference or complicity to the plight of billions has unmasked us all. Well, Your Name, have you come this far to spread intricate sadness with all possible combinations of dour gesticulations and complex facial contortions? Didn't think so. Is there any way the Moon in the last degrees of Pisces could please you without resorting to the obvious? By the time we come to Pisces, we've been and are everything. Identities and boundaries get very fuzzy at this stage, and they're supposed to. Moon in Pisces reminds us that we are on an infinite journey, ever leaving, ever returning. Where have we been? And who are we? We are a raindrop. We are the ocean. As warm jets, we are two fishes swimming in opposite directions, symbolizes the imperative to integrate two dimensions - the finite and the infinite. Neptune, which rules Pisces, was the mythic God of the Sea; he is associated with the swells of emotion and the vast mysteries of the collective unconscious. In the modern Western world, this is largely misunderstood territory. Chickadees have been known to fornicate with badgers here, for christsakes. The moon, she is in the sign of fishes. Sobbing and laughing from the fjord to the poorhouse, The beneficial effects of the Piscean hormone melatonin have been part of the health supplement scene for some time, for high melatonin production is known to be synonymous with a high immune system, a low cancer risk, long life, energy, stamina, and according to many, enhanced spiritual awareness. Perhaps it is fitting then that this hormone is secreted by the pineal gland, a mysterious little item long believed by mystics to be the "Seat of the Soul," "Me Third Eye," and the organ through which psychic powers are exercised. In fact, it actually functions as an organ of sight in some reptiles, and it still seems to possess some sensitivity to light in higher mammals, since melatonin production increases when the person is exposed to darkness (thus melatonin means "night worker!") High melatonin production thereby increases the facility for receiving and transmitting high-frequency cosmic and local broadcasts, and leads to a greater state of cosmic awareness - a state simply of ’knowing.’ In this regard, it is interesting to note that the Pineal Third Eye has been found to contain very fine granular particles, rather like the crystals in a wireless receiving set. Many magical rites and meditation techniques are aimed at gaining control of this organ and the fluid it produces: Veering at the mercy of decadent thighs, In billowing abandonment, A serpent dancing on the coy derrière, A baton in the bawdy dunes

Wednesday August 17

The Day of Mercury in the kabbalistic World of Air, Yetzirah.,. Mercury's function is to communicate. To think. To know. To reason. Language is his playground. The Akasic Library is his home. And oh yes, Hermes is a Love god. He likes the sound of his own voice. Write a poem, a sonnet, or some erotica today and them transmit that information to at least one other person. Mercury teaches(by demonstration), the animation of Eidolons, the magick indwelling of icons by Spirit. . Let intuition rule. Since mercury is bassackwards (retrograde) now in Leo, Add a few extra syllables to every verb you utter today, e.g. enscrubulify, intellarialectualizate, disunstrangulatize. At 4:44 in the morning: you won't see a cop or a raccoon; you can pee in full phantasmagoria under the stars in the night with the wind high and salty and the dome of the sky in full splay sprayed and contusioned upon the black upon the twisted wicked love of the cypress in decline. Someday I'd like to stop three feet from the top of Everest. "Fuck it, I'm not going a single inch further." I'd say and turn around. The Moon is in Aries, all headstrong and full of piss and vinegar. Aries represents the period from birth to seven months old, when as new borns, we experience everything as an extension of ourselves. Virtually all energy is devoted to having our needs met. On the World scale, Aries is between 48,000 BC and 26,000 BC, when the primitive Neanderthals were trounced upon by Cro-magnons. They were virtually identical to modern Homo Sapiens, yet anthropologists do not know from whence they came. The Aries Moon can be so enthused with it's own adventure that it might seem a little arrogant. Don't take it personally. The focus is on action, not reaction. The Aries Moon squares Mars in Cancer at 1234 p.m which could provoke irritability but could just as easily provide the drive to act with purpose. Sobbing and laughing from the fjord to the poorhouse, the tattooed infant teethes, balancing maliciously over the sea

Thursday August 18
The Day of Jupiter in the kabbalistic World of Air, Yetzirah. If you don't have a good laugh today, you are missing the point. There is a whole division of the Angelic Hierarchy assigned to the sephiroth Chesed (Jupiter) whose purpose is divine inspiration through laughter. And there is no vision more critical in the career of the adept than the Metaversal Joke. Did you here the one about the astrologer who broke his arm and attributed it to an accident? There is a fresh breeze in our sails today. The Day starts out with an enterprising Mars/Jupiter sextile at 9:50 a.m.The Aries Moon is awesomely cooperative with it’s creative , energetic trines to Mercury at 2:oo p.m., the Sun at 9:13 p.m., and Venus at 10:53 p.m., thus inspiring ideas, building confidence, and bringing pleasure. What a sweet day.
